We're assisting a well-funded startup in the govtech space with their search for forward deployed engineers.  Their enterprise AI platform allows government and defense entities to operate more efficiently.  The role will be onsite in their McLean VA office with travel to client sites in Washington DC.
 
What you'll do:

  • Build and deploy agentic AI systems (multi-agent frameworks, RAG pipelines, tool-calling agents) for high-stakes U.S. Government missions

  • Embed directly with federal agency partners to surface mission requirements and convert them into working technical systems

  • Analyze public and walled government databases to identify fraudulent contractors and prevent future fraudulent spending

  • Travel locally across D.C. to government sites (Pentagon, federal agencies)

What you'll bring:

  • 3-10 years of experience mix of software engineer and AI/ML research experience working in partner-​facing environments.​

  • Strong AI/ML engineering experience

  • Experience building and shipping agentic AI/LLM systems (RAG pipelines,​ multi-​agent frameworks,​ tool-​calling agents)

  • Experience working at a government-​facing technology company

  • Degree in CS or other technical field

  • Strong Python engineering background with demonstrated end to end delivery experience
