The Role

We're looking for a Forward Deployed Engineer based in Bangalore to sit at the boundary between our customers and our product — understanding how research agencies actually operate, and building solutions that fit directly into their workflows.

This role is for an engineer at the SDE2 level who is ready to go beyond the codebase. You'll be embedded with customers, diagnosing real operational problems, and shipping targeted solutions fast. You won't wait for a PM to hand you a spec — you'll gather requirements yourself, make reasonable scoping decisions, and deliver. If you want to see your code used by real teams at major research agencies within days of shipping it, this role is for you.

What You'll Own

Customer Engagement and Discovery

• Work directly with customers to understand their survey programming, data processing, and project management workflows

• Translate messy, real-world operational problems into well-scoped engineering solutions

• Serve as a technical point of contact for key accounts during onboarding, deployment, and ongoing usage

Engineering and Delivery

• Build and ship features, integrations, and workflow automations across the full stack — frontend, backend, and AI agent layers

• Deliver customer-specific solutions quickly without compromising code quality or long-term maintainability

• Instrument your work: measure adoption, track issues, and iterate based on what you observe in production

Feedback Loop

• Surface recurring customer pain points and patterns to the core Product and Engineering team

• Help shape the roadmap by bringing ground-level customer insight into internal discussions

• Maintain clear documentation of customer environments, configurations, and known issues
  

What We're Looking For

Must-Have

• 3–5 years of software engineering experience with solid full-stack skills across React, TypeScript, and Python

• Comfortable working directly with customers — you can run a technical discovery call and come away with a clear problem statement

• Able to scope and ship solutions independently without heavy PM or senior engineering oversight

• Strong debugging skills: you can navigate unfamiliar codebases and customer environments without getting stuck

• Good written communication — able to document solutions and explain technical decisions clearly

• Comfortable with ambiguity and fast-changing priorities

Nice to Have

• Exposure to AI/LLM-powered systems or workflow automation tools

• Experience at a B2B SaaS startup in a customer-facing or solutions engineering capacity

• Familiarity with survey platforms, research operations, or data processing workflows

• Experience with AWS or cloud infrastructure at a basic operational level
