Position Overview:

We are looking for customer-focused backend engineers to build effective custom software that leverages Rogo APIs to solve real customer problems.

As an FDSWE, you will work with our customers and Rogo Deployed Engineers to design and implement scalable solutions that solve their most difficult problems. You will design abstractions to solve customer problems, and then use them to scale our speed and quality of delivery across all Forward Deployed engagements.

You will collaborate closely with Sales, Solutions Engineering, Solutions Architects, and Customer Success Managers who work on the same account. You will also work with our Research and Applied Product and Engineering teams to provide insightful customer feedback.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cloud infrastructure, container orchestration, and monitoring tools, with a focus on rapid deployment and customization of our Kubernetes-based applications across various environments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Customer Collaboration:

  • Deeply embed with strategic customers to understand their business challenges and technical requirements.

  • Act as a trusted advisor, working hands-on alongside customer teams to design and implement solutions.

• Financial AI Solution Design & Development:

  • Architect and develop scalable, data-intensive applications utilizing Rogo APIs, Kubernetes, and Cloud services.

  • Design robust abstractions and infrastructure components to solve customer-specific issues, enabling rapid scalability.

• Monitoring & Performance Optimization:

  • Implement monitoring solutions using Datadog to proactively identify, troubleshoot, and resolve system issues.

  • Ensure optimal performance through effective management of Kubernetes clusters and related infrastructure.

• Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Work closely with Sales, Solutions Engineering, Solutions Architects, Customer Success Managers, and Product teams.

  • Provide insightful feedback from customer engagements to inform product development and improvements.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

• Experience:

  • 5-7+ years professional software engineering experience, ideally in customer-facing roles at tech/product-driven companies.

  • Strong experience in backend development (Java, C++, Rust, Python).

  • Significant experience in working with Cloud Services on AWS and/or Azure (EC2, S3, VPC, RDS).

  • Familiarity with relational databases (Postgres) and cloud-native security best practices.

• Bonus:

  • Experience with Helm for Kubernetes package management.

  • Experience with an interface definition language like protocol buffers and gRPC.

  • Familiarity with Java or strictly typed programming language.

  • Experience with Map Reduce or other massively distributed parallel computation frameworks.

  • Experience with vector databases and search technologies such as Elasticsearch.
