We’re looking for a Forward Deployed AI Engineer (Full Stack) to embed deeply with our largest healthcare practices and ensure Basata’s AI agents work effortlessly inside their day-to-day operations.
You’ll be a true full-stack software engineer with strong applied AI experience, responsible for adapting our platform and agents to customer-specific workflows, integrating with EMRs and adjacent systems, and owning production outcomes end-to-end. You’ll sit at the intersection of product, engineering, and deployment.
Your work will directly shape how Basata delivers high-quality AI automation to every practice we support.
Deploy Basata’s AI agents into pre-visit workflows at large healthcare speciality practices, ensuring high reliability and a smooth staff experience.
Build full-stack features that bridge workflow gaps—UI components, backend services, data pipelines, and integrations needed to make deployments successful.
Configure agent behavior (prompts, tools/functions, orchestration logic, routing rules, guardrails) to match practice-specific SOPs while maintaining platform standards.
Own production outcomes at assigned practices: accuracy, containment, latency, reliability, efficiency gains and ROI.
Diagnose and resolve real-world failures: edge cases, data issues, workflow ambiguity, misroutes, or integration brittleness—then ship durable fixes.
Create deployment playbooks: repeatable patterns, best practices, testing checklists, rollout plans, and documentation to scale implementations across practices.
3–5+ years of software engineering experience, with meaningful ownership of production systems.
Full-stack strength: you can ship across frontend + backend + data flows (React/TypeScript + Java/Springboot, REST APIs, databases, queues, EHR integrations etc.).
Applied AI experience in production: LLM-based agents, tool calling/function calling, evaluation/observability, prompt + workflow iteration, reliability/latency tradeoffs.
Comfort working directly with customers and operators with an ability to translate vague workflow pain into crisp technical solutions.
Strong debugging instincts and a bias for action in high-stakes environments (healthcare operations don’t pause).
