AI-driven threats and human error are today’s biggest enterprise security risks. Cybercriminals don’t hack systems—they exploit people. Human errors drive 70% of security breaches, making human behavior the primary and growing attack surface. At Fable, we believe that the right tools can convert people from targets to another layer of defense.
Fable is the human risk platform that directly shapes employee behavior. Designed for simplicity and enterprise scale, our agentic platform synthesizes complex employee data, pinpoints risky behaviors, and deploys highly relevant interventions to people automatically, in real time, right where they work.
Backed by Redpoint Ventures and Greylock Partners and founded by early Abnormal Security team members, Fable is solving cybersecurity’s biggest challenge in a multi-billion-dollar market. Our team includes alumni from Meta, Twitter, Flexport, and top-tier universities like Waterloo, Columbia, Berkeley, Purdue, CMU, Stanford, UCLA, and USC. We are experiencing explosive growth, making this a career-defining opportunity to join and shape the future of security.
As a Forward Deployed Software Engineer (FDSE), you’ll work directly with customers to implement Fable’s platform, adapt it to their environments, and unlock measurable security outcomes. You’ll write production code, build on top of our existing platform, and solve complex technical problems—all while collaborating closely with security teams and end users.
You’ll work across the product and delivery lifecycle: scoping technical needs, shaping deployment plans, ingesting new data sources, extending product capabilities, and troubleshooting live environments. You'll also help shape our roadmap by bringing field insight and customer patterns back to the product team.

Proficient in Python, TypeScript, or similar languages; comfortable working across the stack
Strong debugging and systems thinking skills, with experience building reliable data integrations or pipelines
Excellent communication skills; you can translate technical details into customer impact and vice versa
You thrive in ambiguity, take ownership end-to-end, and prioritize outcomes over output
Bonus: Experience in security, enterprise SaaS, behavioral analytics, or human-centered systems
Build technology that helps organizations tackle human-driven security risk at scale
Ship software that customers rely on daily—and see the impact immediately
