The Role
As our Founding Forward Deployed Engineer, you'll be the technical face of Glacis, working hand-in-hand with customers during pilots, integrations, and rollouts. When not actively deploying solutions, you'll contribute directly to our core product - building features, tools, and system enhancements.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead Customer Deployments: Own end-to-end rollout projects - from kickoff workshops through technical integration, debugging, and go‑live - with enterprise clients
Customer Collaboration: Work directly with logistics, IT, and operational teams to understand workflows, pain points, and requirements; customize solutions and integrations accordingly
Solution Design & Technical Execution: Build and deploy prototypes, scripts, integrations, and UI components (backend, frontend, AI systems) tailored to client needs.
Core Product Contribution: When not in deployment mode, direct value flow into Glacis’s core platform - adding features, automation layers, and system enhancements.
Voice of the Customer: Document insights, user feedback, and deployment learnings; translate them into product recommendations and strategic input to our engineering team
Scaling Playbooks: Codify deployment best practices, reusable integration patterns, and client-facing tooling to improve efficiency and reliability across future engagements
Are You the Right Fit?
Experience: 3+ years in software engineering or technical deployment roles—ideally with hands-on, customer-facing experience (Solutions Engineering, FDE, technical PM)
Technical Depth: Proficient in Python/Django (backend), JavaScript/TypeScript or similar for frontend, system integration; comfortable designing APIs, integrations, data workflows, and basic AI logic.
Customer-Facing Skills: Skilled communicator who can steer workshops, explain technical solutions clearly to non-technical stakeholders, and build trust quickly.
Problem-Solver: Resourceful and adaptable - you thrive in ambiguity and excel at solving real-world technical challenges on the spot.
Owner Mindset: You are outcomes-driven, with high autonomy, resilience, and strong attention to detail - delivering reliably under shifting timelines.
Global Perspective: Experience working with international clients or cross-cultural teams, and professional-level proficiency in English.
