As a Forward Deployed Software Engineer (FDE) at Beacon, you'll be at the intersection of engineering and business acceleration. Youβll embed within 2β3 portfolio companies at a time, diagnosing critical engineering bottlenecks, shipping new features, and unlocking commercial growth.
This is a unique opportunity to build and scale multiple businesses simultaneously while working in a startup environment backed by a profitable, venture-funded platform.
Youβll be responsible for:
Vibe-coding new AI-powered features and products
Modernizing backends and frontends across various tech stacks
Supporting market and product expansion into adjacent verticals
Collaborating directly with product, design, and business leaders
5β10 years in full-stack software engineering
Background at high-growth startups (e.g., Ramp, Rippling, Scale AI, etc.)
Founding engineer or ex-founder strongly preferred
Big Tech experience acceptable only if combined with recent startup exposure
Strong full-stack engineering skills with at least 35% frontend exposure
Excellent debugging and systems problem-solving ability
Able to ramp up quickly on unfamiliar codebases and tools
Entrepreneurial: You want to build businesses, not just software
Commercially aware: You solve for business outcomes, not just elegant code
Curious: Youβre excited about private equity, AI, and vertical SaaS
