We’re looking for a Forward Deployed Engineer who is energized by working directly with customers on high-impact technical projects and excited to embed Vendasta’s platform into complex environments around the globe. In this role, you’ll play a key part in helping small and medium-sized businesses succeed—while shaping the future of AI for local economies.

Your Impact

As a Forward Deployed Engineer you'll work with Product, Engineering, Professional Services, and Sales Engineering to:

• Serve as the technical lead for on-site and remote deployments of the Vendasta platform with enterprise customers (~1 week/month travel).
• Translate customer use cases into technical implementations using the Vendasta platform, APIs, and services while resolving integration challenges with autonomy.
• Apply deep architectural thinking to improve system scalability, security, and maintainability based on real-world field deployments.
• Act as the “voice from the field” by providing structured, actionable product feedback and proactively identifying and fixing adoption blockers.
• Drive cross-team alignment and technical clarity, while mentoring engineers and promoting AI-enabled workflows across Vendasta and our customers.
  

What You Bring to the Table

You bring senior-level engineering experience and a deep understanding of full-stack development—including backend, frontend, databases, and cloud infrastructure. You have a track record of working directly with customers to solve high-impact technical challenges and are adept at influencing internal stakeholders. Your strong communication skills help bring clarity to complex technical situations, and you're passionate about integrating AI tools into modern software workflows.

Required Experience:

• Proven experience as a senior individual contributor in software engineering.
• Hands-on experience in full-stack development and cloud infrastructure.
• Customer-facing experience on technical deployments or integration projects.
• Demonstrated use of modern AI tools in software delivery and documentation.
• Familiarity with agile methodologies and technical mentorship practices.

• Experience developing AI-powered software solutions is an asset
• Experience working in a high-growth SaaS or platform company is an asset
