Dimensional is building the operating system for general-purpose robotics — the foundational software layer that sits between robot hardware and AI models, enabling robots to perceive, reason, learn, and act across diverse real-world environments. The platform is open source and available on GitHub, and is actively deployed across verticals including security, agriculture, and data centers.
The company has raised $30M, making it one of the best-capitalized software robotics startups in the space. Dimensional is also the distribution partner for two of the largest robotics hardware OEMs in the world, giving the platform unique go-to-market reach. The CEO previously co-founded Mock Industries, now valued at $1.8B after raising $500M.
The team is roughly 10 people in San Francisco, almost entirely engineers and the founder. Flat structure, high ownership, and a product-focused culture built around shipping real systems into real environments.
The Opportunity
Dimensional is looking for a Forward Deployed Engineer to work directly with customers on real-world robotic deployments. You will be the technical bridge between customer requirements and Dimensional's platform — translating ambiguous needs into defined specs, integrating the stack into production environments, and shipping back-end code to make it work.
This is not a support role or an integration specialist role. You will own deployments end-to-end, navigate unfamiliar codebases, find issues, and fix them. The work is hands-on, customer-facing, and requires genuine comfort with physical systems and production environments. Expect domestic travel 10-25% of the time.
