About Optura

At Optura, we’re reimagining healthcare through the lens of AI. Our mission is to help the industry break free from its 17%+ GDP burden by delivering enterprise-scale, production-ready AI solutions. Backed by a seasoned team and $6.5M in seed funding, we're building EOS—our flagship AI Enterprise Operating System—to orchestrate and operationalize intelligent agents across healthcare payers and PBMs.
We don’t just talk about AI transformation—we deliver it.

About the Role

We’re looking for an experienced Forward Deployed Engineer who thrives at the intersection of engineering, customer success, and real-world impact.
In this highly visible, customer-facing role, you’ll collaborate directly with healthcare organizations to deploy and customize Optura's AI EOS platform. You'll translate complex workflows into intelligent agents that solve real problems—such as prior authorizationdrug rebate optimization, and formulary management. You’ll also serve as a feedback conduit, shaping the evolution of our platform alongside our product and engineering teams.
If you’re excited by the idea of building transformative AI systems for one of the world’s most complex industries, this role is for you.

Key Responsibilities

 Customer Engagement

  • Partner with payer and PBM clients to understand their workflows and requirements

  • Translate technical and business needs into robust, AI-driven solutions

 Platform Deployment

  • Lead hands-on implementation of EOS into customer environments

  • Configure and deploy serverless and containerized infrastructure using AWS

 Use Case Development

  • Design, develop, and maintain customer-specific AI agents and applications

  • Apply the full software development lifecycle (SDLC) to AI and automation components

  • Leverage Python and JavaScript to integrate solutions seamlessly

  • Implement and optimize agentic systems and RAG (retrieval-augmented generation) pipelines

 Metrics & Performance

  • Monitor solution performance, KPIs, and system health

  • Continuously improve implementations based on data and feedback

 Technical Leadership

  • Deliver training, guidance, and documentation to help customers maximize value

  • Channel insights back to our product team to refine EOS functionality and roadmap

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of professional experience in:

    • Software engineering, solution engineering, or technical consulting

    • Customer-facing or implementation roles

  • Strong programming skills in Python and/or JavaScript

  • Deep experience with cloud platforms (AWS preferred; GCP/Azure acceptable)

  • Familiarity with container orchestration and serverless architectures

  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

  • Experience working in or with regulated industries (healthcare, fintech, etc.) is a plus

  • Ability to travel as needed (U.S. only)

The Perks

  • Competitive base salary ($145K–$175K)

  • Meaningful equity (0.1%–0.15%)

  • Mission-driven team working on high-impact problems

  • Remote-first culture with offices in RaleighNashville, and Missouri

  • Opportunity to work closely with seasoned founders and a high-growth customer base

  • Fast-paced, collaborative startup environment with real ownership
