Forward Deployed Software Engineer (Utilities)

Full-time | Hybrid | New York, NY

Compensation: $135K – $200K + RSUs

About the Role

We’re looking for engineers who thrive at the intersection of software and problem-solving. As a Forward Deployed Software Engineer (FDSE), you’ll work directly with customers to understand their toughest challenges and design solutions that unlock the power of their data.

Think of this role as part startup CTO, part product builder: you’ll own end-to-end execution of high-stakes projects. Your day might include architecting systems with teammates, wrangling massive datasets, coding custom web apps, meeting with executives, and setting strategy for your team.

What You’ll Do

• Partner directly with customers to scope and solve mission-critical problems
• Design and build scalable, production-ready software solutions
• Own projects end-to-end—from architecture to deployment to iteration
• Travel occasionally to client sites (up to 25%) to ensure success in the field

What We’re Looking For

• Strong coding skills in one or more languages (Python, Java, C++, TypeScript/JavaScript, or similar)
• Comfort working across the stack, from data wrangling to front-end development
• Ability to thrive in ambiguous, fast-moving environments with high responsibility
• Entrepreneurial mindset with interest in product ownership and leadership
