TriFetch — Forward Deployed Engineer

Type: Full-time | On-site | San Francisco, CA Compensation: $150,000–$200,000 + Competitive Equity Hiring count: 1 Visa sponsorship: Yes — H-1B (including transfer), O-1, OPT Reports to: Founder

About TriFetch

TriFetch develops AI solutions for repetitive healthcare tasks — from AI phone agents for appointment scheduling/rescheduling through prior authorization. Built for private practices and specialty clinics, their highly customizable solutions deploy within hours and integrate directly into existing clinic workflows without requiring system migrations ("Palantir for Healthcare"). They have four live pilots and a waitlist of 10 additional clinics.

Founded: 2025 | Team size: 5 | Total funding: $2M pre-seed (angels, including a founder of Hippocratic AI) Industry: Healthcare AI Website: trifetch.ai Office: San Francisco, CA

Why Candidates Should Join

  • Ground-floor ownership: Own client accounts end-to-end from first call through implementation and ongoing support, with meaningful autonomy over assigned accounts, reporting directly to the founder.
  • Real traction on day one: Four live pilots plus a 10-clinic waitlist in one of the most underserved markets in tech.
  • Blended technical + client role: A genuine forward-deployed seat — up to 70% hands-on engineering, 30% client-facing — not a pure back-office or pure account-management job.
  • Backing & pedigree: $2M pre-seed from angels including a founder of Hippocratic AI; founded by two PhD-trained engineers. Visa sponsorship supported (H-1B transfer, OPT, O-1).

The Role

TriFetch is hiring a Forward Deployed Engineer to own client accounts end-to-end — joining first calls as leads come in, handling implementation, and owning the relationship going forward. The role is genuinely blended, with a hard ceiling of 70% technical / 30% client-facing; candidates leaning more client-facing than that ratio are not a fit.

The stack is a Tauri/Rust desktop client with a Python cloud backend on AWS/GCP and Node.js on the frontend. Rust experience is not required despite the desktop client running on it — what matters is a systems-thinking mindset, a strong willingness to dive into Rust when needed, and an understanding of how desktop applications interact with OS-level resources and cloud services. Fluent English and clear communication are required (accent is not a factor).

What You'll Be Doing

  • Own client accounts end-to-end: first call through implementation and ongoing support
  • Build robust, scalable Python backends and APIs at a production level
  • Take ownership of cloud infrastructure (AWS/GCP): CI/CD pipelines, containerization, deployment strategies for Python/AI services, and monitoring/alerting
  • Travel to client sites as needed (roughly 30% of the role)
  • Fix issues directly when things break in production; be reachable when production issues arise
  • Balance technical depth with clear, direct client communication

Tech stack: Python cloud backend (AWS/GCP) · Node.js frontend · Tauri/Rust desktop client · CI/CD · containerization

Requirements

  • 2+ years SWE experience
  • Deep production Python backend and API experience
  • Up to 70% technical / 30% client-facing
  • AWS/GCP, CI/CD, Node.js; Rust systems-thinking a plus
  • SF 5 days in-person, ~30% travel

Green Flags

  • Direct, specific communicator who dives into technical detail rather than staying vague or high-level
  • Strong ownership mindset: treats issues in their account as their responsibility to resolve
  • Healthcare or clinic-adjacent industry experience
  • Experience building and deploying voice AI agents or computer use agents in production, not just experimenting with them
  • Systems thinker comfortable moving between backend, cloud infra, and desktop/OS-level concerns

Red Flags

  • Vague, high-level answers that avoid technical specifics when pressed
  • Avoids ownership or responsibility when something goes wrong
  • Wants strict work-life balance; not a fit for the pace and on-call expectations of this role
  • Uncomfortable with the 70/30 technical-to-client-facing ratio in either direction

Details

  • Location: San Francisco, CA
  • Work policy: In-person 5 days/week; ~30% travel
  • Compensation: $150,000–$200,000 + equity
  • Visa sponsorship: H-1B (incl. transfer), O-1, OPT
  • Employment type: Full-time
