Overview

Osprey Talent Solutions is supporting a mission-focused government services partner seeking a Forward Deployed Software Engineer to contribute to the development of data and analytics capabilities supporting public health initiatives.

In this role, you will work alongside senior engineers and government stakeholders to build analytical dashboards, support data pipelines, and deliver production-ready features within a modern data platform environment.

This opportunity is well suited for an engineer who enjoys building data-driven applications and working closely with mission-focused teams solving real-world public health challenges.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop front-end analytical dashboards using the platform's application layer
  • Support CI/CD pipeline configuration including build scripts, automated tests, and environment promotion workflows
  • Implement metric definitions and data transformations aligned to platform ontology models
  • Produce technical documentation including configuration notes, runbooks, and sprint artifacts
  • Participate in agile development cycles including sprint planning, standups, reviews, and demonstrations for government stakeholders
  • Conduct testing and validation to ensure dashboard functionality and data integrity
  • Collaborate with senior engineers to resolve integration issues and support feature delivery
  • Troubleshoot defects and implement enhancements to maintain stable operations

Qualifications:

  • Experience working within modern data platforms supporting analytics and dashboard development
  • Approximately three or more years of software engineering experience
  • Experience with Python, TypeScript, or Java in cloud-based data environments
  • Experience supporting government, public health, or mission-driven environments is a plus
  • Ability to independently build features, test them, and deliver production-ready functionality
  • Comfortable working within small, fast-moving technical teams
  • Must currently hold or be able to obtain a Public Trust clearance
